Earthquake struck Taiwan, triggers tsunami alert

Today, on, April 3, a powerful 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck Taiwan’s eastern region just before 8 am local time, triggering tsunami alerts for the self-governing island and certain areas of southern Japan. In response to the seismic activity in Taiwan, the Philippines also issued a tsunami warning and instructed the evacuation of coastal regions.
