Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose : A Tribute to India’s Indomitable Freedom Icon

January 23 is the 128th Birth Anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. A defiant patriot and one of India’s greatest freedom fighters. Affectionately called as Netaji, he was one of the most prominent leaders of Indian freedom struggle. The day is also known as Parakram Diwas or the Day of Valour.
Passed Indian Civil Services Exam. Elected Congress President in 1938 and 1939. Formed a new party All India Forward Block; organized Azad Hind Fauj to overthrow British Empire from India .
In July 1943, he arrived in Singapore from Germany. In Singapore he took over the reins of the Indian Independence Movement in East Asia from Rash Behari Bose. And organised the Azad Hind Fauj (Indian National Army) comprising mainly of Indian prisoners of war.
PM Modi also renamed three islands of Andaman and Nicobar to mark the 75th anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s raising of the Indian national flag. Ross Island, Neil Island, and Havelock Island renamed Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Dweep, Shaheed Dweep, and Swaraj Dweep, respectively.
The prime minister virtually inaugurated a model of a proposed memorial dedicated to Bose in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. And named 21 islands after Param Vir Chakra awardees. The memorial will be set up on Ross Island, which was renamed Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Dweep in 2018.
The Odisha government converted the ancestral house into the Netaji Birth Place Museum. Memorabilia associated with the great leader showcased through 15 galleries.
The mortal remains held in an urn in a Buddhist temple in Renkoji in Japan
