Chandrayaan 3 lands on South pole
Indian Space Research Organisation’s (ISRO) Chandrayaan-3 mission has landed successfully. The Vikram lander made a soft lunar landing .
India became the fourth country after the United States, the Soviet Union and China to land Rover on the moon.
The Chandrayaan-3 is aimed at the lunar south pole, a region with water ice, or frozen water, that could be a source of oxygen, fuel and water for future moon missions or a more permanent moon colony.
the Chandrayaan-3 is expected to remain functional for two weeks, running a series of experiments including a spectrometer analysis of the mineral composition of the lunar surface.
The Moon is Earth’s only natural satellite
The Moon and Earth exert a gravitational pull on each other. This gravitational pull causes the waves we see when we’re in a boat or at the seaside.
Neil Armstrong and Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin were the first humans to set foot on the moon in July 1969.
