National Farmers Welfare Program Implementation Committee office inaugurated

Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shri Narendra Singh Tomar inaugurated the office of National Farmers Welfare Program Implementation Committee. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Tomar said that the National Farmers Welfare Program Implementation Committee would act as a project monitoring unit for the implementation of PM-Kisan Yojana, Kisan Maandhan Yojana, Agriculture Infrastructure Fund and other schemes of the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.

PM-Kisan Yojana,

  • It has become operational from 1.12.2018. Under the scheme an income support of Rs.6000/- per year in three equal instalments will be provided to small and marginal farmer families having combined land holding/ownership of upto 2 hectares

Government has launched the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maan DhanYojana (PM-KMY) on 12.9.2019 with a view to providing social security to Small and Marginal Farmers, who own cultivable land up to 2 hectare , in their old age when they have no means of livelihood and minimal or no savings to take care of their expenses. Under this scheme, a minimum fixed pension of Rs.3,000/- is provided to the small and marginal farmers, subject to certain exclusion criteria, on attaining the age of 60 years. Age criteria 18-40

The government has launched a digital platform named as ‘Kisan Saarathi’, available in Hindi and many regional languages, through which farmers can interact and avail personalized advisories on agriculture and allied areas directly from the respective scientists of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVKs), the nodal centers that ensure growers benefit from research and technology.

The Agriculture Infrastructure Fund is a medium – long-term debt financing facility for investment in viable projects for post-harvest management infrastructure and community farming assets through interest subvention and credit guarantee.

The Government’s vision is to spread the inclusion of the water system ‘Har Khet ko pani’ and improve water use proficiency. The Government has decided to achieve ‘More harvest per drop’

Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVY)

(PKVY) which encourages the farmers to implement traditional or Government schemes for organic farming in India. The government provides financial help to the farmers of Rs. 50,000 per hectare every three years for organic process, certification, labeling, packaging, and transportation in organic production.

Kisan Credit Card (KCC)

the Government of India provides help to farmers with farm credit at the subsidized rate of 4% per annum as government subsidies for agriculture

National Agriculture Market (eNAM) is an electric portal in pan India that connects the existing mandis to create the national market for agricultural goods.

Micro Irrigation Fund scheme

The main objective or mission of the Micro Irrigation Fund is to implement for the availing interest loan for expanding coverage of micro-irrigation facilities.
