Retail Inflation Climbs to 9-Month High of 5.49% in September
The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation releases Retail Inflation data.Retail Inflation, the All-India Consumer Price Index (CPI) Climbs to 9-month High of 5.49% in September. August’s monthly figure was 3.65 per cent.
A sharp increase in food prices drives Inflation. Food inflation rose sharply to 9.2 percent in September from 5.66 percent in the preceding month. An acceleration in the prices of vegetables (35.99 percent) and fruits (7.65 percent) caused this sharp uptick.
