Mayor of North Delhi Mr. Adesh Gupta today visited Ward No. 25 (Rohini B). Municipal Councillor Ms Kanika Jain ; Additional Commissioner (Engineering), North DMC, Mr. S K Bhandari; and Deputy Commissioner, Rohini Zone, Mr. Kapil Rastogi were present on the occasion, along with other senior officials.

During the visit, Mayor of North Delhi Mr. Adesh Gupta inaugurated a garbage compactor. This garbage compactor would help in reducing the volume of garbage by compacting and thus reducing the open littering. This would facilitate garbage disposal through modern techniques and is a step towards Swachh Bharat Mission. Stressing on the Mission, Mayor of North Delhi said that people’s participation is necessary for the success of Swachh Bharat Mission.

Mayor of North Delhi also took note of the issues raised by the people and the Municipal Councillor Ms Kanika Jain and promised to get them resolved them as soon as possible.

He further said as everyone is aware of the financial situation of the North DMC, he will do his best to ensure that funds will be allocated for the welfare of people. Stressing on the situation, he said, it is the moral and constitutional duty of the Delhi government to allocate funds for developmental work. However despite the situation, the corporation is working hard for the citizens and will keep doing so.

He also appealed RWAs and social organizations to adopt parks and community structures, and work with the corporation to ensure their development.

Ms. Kanika Jain informed the Mayor that the cleanliness work is being taken care of in a proper way in the ward, but there is a need for allocation of more budget for further improvement in the ward, including the development of community halls, parks, and reconstruction of roads/lanes. She further said that as per the demands of the local people of Rohini sector 5, 6 and 11, open gym needs to be installed in parks in the area and repair work of the community halls needs to be done.
